Plinovodi, the Slovenian transmission system operator organized its annual Shipper Info Day event on 04/04/2018 in Ljubljana. The successful and informative event received great attention among the market participants and interested shippers and also among regulatory and diplomatic bodies with the highly appreciated representation of the Slovenian ambassador of Hungary and the state secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Slovenia.
The "Bidirectional gas route Italy-Slovenia-Hungary" concept was also introduced on this event by the involved transmission system operators Plinovodi, SNAM and FGSZ. The presented project group aims to (1) create a new connection between Slovenia and Hungary at Pince/Tornyiszentmiklós and (2) strengthen the bidirectional flows between Italy and Slovenia at Gorizia/Sempeter interconnection point. The projects of this group form a new route in the priority Corridor "NSI East". This planned infrastructure enables bidirectional flows up to more than 2 bcma after the second phase and increases diversification of entry points and enhances the usage of regional storage capacities. It also strengthens flexibility and diversification of routes and gas sources and increases security of supply of the region. The proposed interconnections enhance regional market integration and price convergence.
We would like to thank the opportunity to participate on Plinovodi's Shipper Info Day to jointly present this project concept aiming to enhance regional cooperation on security of supply.
The transmission system operators might invite the interested shippers to a non-binding capacity booking procedure in the forthcoming months.
