The future of Natural Gas

In order to achieve environmental harm reduction and to switch to a more sustainable operation of the economy, in sectors that are difficult to electrify (e.g. heat production) a switch to low or zero emission energy carriers must happen.

Natural gas is one of the main fossil energy sources of the Hungarian as well as the globalenergy mix, especially important in the CEE region. Since most of natural gas consumption is used in the household sector for heat production, the availability of the energy carrier is also important from a country strategic point of view. In the absence of natural gas, it practically cannot be replaced by other energy carriers in the short run. Environmental harm reduction
