Amendment to the Interconnection Agreement (IA) between FGSZ Ltd. and eustream a.s.

The amendment to the Interconnection Agreement (IA) between FGSZ Ltd. and the Slovak eustream a.s. was signed, concerning the Veľké Zlievce/Balassagyarmat Slovak-Hungarian interconnection point. 

As previously communicated by the transmission system operators, FGSZ Ltd. and eustream a.s. have successfully concluded the negotiations regarding the amendment of the Interconnection Agreement for the Veľké Zlievce/Balassagyarmat interconnection point. 

According to the agreement, the firm capacity at the Veľké Zlievce/Balassagyarmat interconnection point will increase to 5,300,315 kWh/h (equivalent to 500,000 m³/h, rising from 3.5 billion m³/year to 4.38 billion m³/year) in the direction from Hungary to Slovakia. 

The offering of the increased capacity may take place following the approval of the relevant national authorities. Market participants will be informed after the completion of the official procedures. 

Thanks to the optimization efforts on FGSZ’s system, this additional firm capacity increase at the Slovak-Hungarian interconnection point will be an important step in the establishment of the Vertical Corridor, which—after the necessary system developments—will improve bidirectional gas flows between North and South in the region, leveraging the enhanced capabilities of the new and under development LNG capacities in the area and potential natural gas sources.
