Capacity increase at Csanádpalota interconnection point

The amendment to the Interconnection Agreement (IA) between FGSZ Ltd. and Romanian SNTGN Transgaz S.A. was signed, concerning the Csanádpalota Romanian-Hungarian interconnection point. 

SNTGN Transgaz S.A. and FGSZ Ltd.  have successfully concluded the amendment of the Interconnection Agreement for the Csanádpalota interconnection point. 

According to the agreement, the technical capacity of the Csanádpalota interconnection point (21Z000000000236Q) will increase from 310,000 m3/h to 320,000 m3/h in both directions starting from 1 April 2026.

• From Romania to Hungary from 3 393 023 kWh/h to 3 502 475 kWh/h,
• from Hungary to Romania from 3 358 387 kWh/h to 3 466 722 kWh/h.

The increased capacity will be offered as a monthly product at the respective monthly capacity auction on 16 March 2026.

The increased capacity will be offered at each subsequent capacity auction in accordance with the CAM NC auction calendar.

The transmission system operators consider this optimization the next step of the Vertical Corridor development, which aims to offer increased transmission capacities for alternative natural gas resources entering the Central Eastern European region from the Southern direction.
