Increased capacity at the Interconnection Point Vel'ké Zlievce/Balassagyarmat
2024. 01. 31.
In connection with the published joint Demand Assessment Report dated on October 23, 2023, regarding the incremental capacity between Hungary and Slovakia, the companies Eustream and FGSZ hereby announce that, based on market demand assessment run in 2023, the offered capacity at the IP Veľké Zlievce/Balassagyarmat (EIC 21Z000000000358C) will be increased by 50%, i.e., by 25,441 MWh/d/year (1,060,063 kWh/h/y) in the direction of Hungary-Slovakia.
This increased capacity will be offered in the annual capacity auction on July 1, 2024 for the gas years of 2024/2025 - 2038/2039.
Given that no investments are required on Eustream’s and FGSZ’s sides for the capacity increase at the IP Veľké Zlievce/Balassagyarmat, the capacity incremental capacity project under current conditions can be considered concluded for now.
In the event that Eustream and FGSZ agree on adjusting the respective technical parameters and the Hungarian regulatory authority (HEA) approves these adjusted technical parameters by issuing a modified operational license for FGSZ, the mentioned increased capacity will be offered in the form of short-term products even earlier than July 1, 2024. Further details on the timing of such short term capacity allocation will be published by Eustream and FGSZ in due time.
