On the sideline of the solidarity agreement between Hungary and Romania, the amendment to the Interconnection Agreement (IA) between the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) of Hungary and Romania has also been signed today.
According to the technical amendment, the TSO parties agree that in case of any extraordinary event the Parties will effectively cooperate in order to maintain physical gas flow and continuous gas transmission between the two countries. The amendment covers extraordinary maintenance, pipeline inspection and repair works, as well as technological knowledge sharing and data reconciliation.
Szabolcs Ferencz I., Chairman-CEO of FGSZ, stated: "Today's agreement is a significant step forward, as no such agreement has been concluded with any other TSO. This cooperation strengthens the relationship between TSOs in the event of extraordinary circumstances; as a result, energy security between of both countries improves."
